What do you love most about being a REALTOR® in Southern Maryland?
I love being a realtor because I get to help people find a place that truly feels like home—somewhere they’ll create memories and build their next chapter. I also enjoy guiding clients through the process of moving to a new area and helping them connect with the neighborhoods, resources, and people they need to feel settled.

What’s your favorite part of living in Southern Maryland?
Anything involving the water in Southern Maryland has my heart—from boating and crabbing to paddleboarding and waterfront dining. It’s a truly unique and beautiful place to call home.
What’s a pro tip you can share with home buyers/sellers in the Chesapeake region?
Everyone asks if a kitchen remodel is worth the investment. If you want the best return on your investment today, skip the renovation and do these three things instead:
Swap your cabinet hardware.
Paint your front door.
Modernize your light fixtures.
The total cost is under $500, but the ‘vibe shift’ is massive.
What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I lived in Singapore for 3 years growing up!
What does your day-to-day look like as a Southern Maryland REALTOR®?
My day-to-day is a balancing act of being an educator, a parent to three kiddos, and a dedicated realtor. Here is what that looks like:
Teaching 5th grade math and science. I spend my mornings and afternoons in the classroom.
Managing travel sports. My evenings are dedicated to getting my three kids to their various practices and games.
Mastering the market. I consistently attend real estate trainings to stay ahead of the Southern Maryland real estate market.
Serving clients. I carve out time for home showings and helping my clients reach their goals.
Prioritizing family. I always make sure to find quality time to spend with my family.

How do you celebrate closing a deal with your real estate clients?
Closing day is a huge milestone, and I love celebrating it by curating a personalized gift basket for my clients. Throughout our time together, I’m always listening for those little details—what you love, your favorite hobbies, or even things you mentioned you might need. Whether it’s a ‘survival kit’ for the move or something special to make your new house feel like home, I want your gift to be the perfect start to your next chapter!
What’s the most rewarding feedback you’ve received from a client?
One of the most rewarding pieces of feedback I’ve received came when a past client sent me a holiday card just to say thank you. Knowing she still thought of me long after our transaction was complete showed me that my concierge-level service truly makes a lasting impact. Moments like that remind me why I love what I do — helping people feel supported every step of the way.
If you could describe your approach to real estate in three words, what would they be?
Clarity, Comfort, and Connection.
What makes McNelis & Associates different from other real estate teams in Southern Maryland?
What sets our team apart is our collective experience—you aren’t just getting one agent; you’re getting a deep bench of expertise. Whether it’s a specific neighborhood or a complex transaction detail, if I don’t have the answer personally, I have a team of specialists ready to jump in or point us in the right direction. We’ve got you covered from every angle.

What local community events or causes are you passionate about?
I really love what Sleep in Heavenly Peace does for St. Mary’s County. The nonprofit organization builds and delivers beds for children who would otherwise be sleeping on the floor.
Two of my favorite events are the Solomons Christmas Walk and the Leonardtown Square’s Christmas Tree lighting. These small-town events make me feel like I’m living in my own little Hallmark movie.
